Special Guest Lecture on “University Education and the Research Culture”

The first lecture among the lecture series organized by the Department of Social Sciences and Comparative Studies as per the Annual Action Plan-2024, was successfully held on 08.10.2024 at the Auditorium, Faculty of Languages and Cultural Studies of the University.  The title was “University Education and the Research Culture” and  the lecture was delivered by Prof. Manjula Ranagalage.

The integration of research into University curricula, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, enhancing critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the publication of research papers were explored through this lecture. Key objectives outlined during the lecture included improving teaching quality, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, and providing valuable professional development opportunities for both students and faculty members. Overall, the session aimed at inspiring a stronger research culture within the University community.
