Where is the BUSL located?

BUSL is located in Anuradhapura about 1.5km from the town on the Puttalam road, which is one of the ancient cities in Sri Lanka. View below on the Google Maps link.

There are two faculties in the BUSL as follows;

 

·    Faculty of Buddhist Studies

·      Faculty of Languages & Cultural Studies

  • A. (Hons.) Degree Programme
  • A. (Hons.) Thripitaka Studies Degree Programme
  • A. (General) Degree Programme
  • Applications are called once every year through BUSL website and newspaper advertisements.

  • Applications can be downloaded from the BUSL website and submitted through registered post or handed over to the Academic and Student Service division before the deadline.

To be a Buddhist monk registered under the ordinances of the Buddhist Vihara    Devalagam Act


                                              and

(i) Qualifying for University admission (3 passes) including Buddhism/Buddhist Civilization and Pali/Sanskrit/ Other language subjects along with the 30% marks for the General Test
                                    Or

 

(ii) Passing the Intermediate Examination of the Oriental Studies Society

Or

 

(iii) Qualifying for University admission (3 passes) including any subject /subjects from Buddhism, Buddhist Civilization, Pali, Sanskrit at the G.C.E. A/L Examination. (Along with the 30% of marks for the General Test)
                                              Or

 

(iv) Qualifying for University admission (3 passes) based on any subject combination under the G.C.E. A/L Examination along with the 30% of marks for the General Test
                                              and
Diploma Course in Buddhism/ Buddhist Civilization/ Pali/ Sanskrit
                                              Or

 

(v) Qualifying for University admission (3 passes) under any subject stream, along with the 30% marks for the General Test.

Students will be informed individually to register for the Degree Program on a specified date by registered post.

Three coloured passport size photographs

Once you are informed to register for the academic year, you shall go to the Academic and Student Service Division with your student record book to register for a particular academic year.

You may download the Student Handbook from the BUSL website.

Yes. All the students who apply for hostel facilities can obtain it every year. The student hostels of this university are located at Bhiksu University Avenue.
