Bhiksu University of Sri Lanka is pleased to announce the appointment of Ven. Dr. Mahakachchakodiye Pangngasekara as the Head of the Department of Social Sciences and Comparative Studies, with effect from 24th September 2024, for a tenure of three (03) years.

Ven. Dr. Mahakachchakodiye Pangngasekara has made distinguished contributions to teaching, research, and academic development within the fields of social sciences and comparative studies. His appointment reflects the confidence placed in his scholarly expertise, administrative capability, and commitment to advancing interdisciplinary academic excellence.

As Head of the Department, he will provide academic leadership, oversee curriculum enhancement, promote research initiatives, and strengthen scholarly engagement at both national and international levels. His guidance is expected to further elevate the Department’s contribution to the Faculty and the University as a whole.
