Workshop on Principles of Good Governance

In accordance with the Annual Action Plan 2025, a workshop on “Principles of Good Governance” was successfully conducted on 27 March 2025 at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Languages and Cultural Studies of the Bhiksu University of Sri Lanka.

The programme was organized by the Establishment Division with the objective of enhancing the quality, accountability, and professional efficiency of both academic and non-academic staff members of the University.

The workshop was conducted by Mr. Sujan Nanayakkara, former Secretary to the Ministry of Finance, who delivered an insightful session on the core principles of transparency, accountability, integrity, and ethical leadership within public institutions. He emphasized the importance of responsible decision-making, sound financial management, and adherence to regulatory frameworks in strengthening institutional credibility.

Participants engaged in discussions on practical governance challenges within higher education settings and explored strategies for fostering a culture of compliance, professionalism, and public trust.

The programme significantly contributed to reinforcing good governance practices and promoting a culture of institutional responsibility within the University.
