Bhiksu University of Sri Lanka is honoured to announce that His Excellency, the President of Sri Lanka, has appointed Ven. Senior Professor Kanattegoda Saddharatana Anunayaka Thero as the Vice Chancellor of the University, with effect from 28th June 2024.

Ven. Senior Professor Kanattegoda Saddharatana Anunayaka Thero previously served as the 6th Vice Chancellor of the Bhiksu University of Sri Lanka and has now been reappointed to continue for a second tenure. This reappointment reflects the confidence placed in his visionary leadership, academic excellence, and steadfast commitment to institutional advancement.

During his previous tenure, the University experienced notable progress in academic development, research advancement, international collaboration, and administrative strengthening. His continued leadership is expected to further enhance the University’s strategic growth, global engagement, and contribution to Buddhist higher education.
