Rules and regulations for the protection, preservation and proper use of Library materials and facilities.
Responsible use of Library resources.
All members of the Library are required to comply with the following rules and regulations to ensure the proper use, preservation, and security of library materials and facilities. These regulations are established for the benefit of the entire academic community.
Failure to adhere to the stated terms and conditions may result in disciplinary action, including the suspension or cancellation of library membership. Penalties and fines applicable to violations are enforced according to Library regulations.
University Identity Card
All readers must carry their valid University Identity Card when entering and using the Library.
Restricted Personal Items
The entry of bags, umbrellas, closed file covers, personal photocopies, personal printed documents, and personal books into the Library is strictly prohibited.
Quiet Scholarly Environment
A quiet and scholarly atmosphere must be maintained at all times. Conducting interviews, engaging in loud conversations, or causing disturbances to other readers or staff members is not permitted.
Use of Cellular Phones
The use of cellular phones within the Library premises is strictly prohibited.
Security Recording of Issued Books
When a book is properly issued at the circulation counter, readers must allow the security officer to record the necessary details related to the borrowed material.
Returning Borrowed Books
Books that have already been borrowed must not be brought back into the Library, except for the purpose of returning them.
Damage to Library Materials
Damaging, marking, defacing, or mutilating library materials is considered a serious offence and will result in disciplinary action and penalties.
Use of Books After Reading
Readers may seek assistance from library staff to locate required materials. Users are not expected to reshelve books after use; placing them on the designated tables is sufficient.
Misuse of Library Cards
Any attempt to borrow library materials using another person’s library card will result in the immediate suspension or cancellation of the offender’s own library membership.
Purpose of these regulations
These regulations are enforced to safeguard library resources and to maintain an environment conducive to study, research, and academic excellence.
