A Dhamma Sermon Programme organized by the Department of Languages of the Bhiksu University of Sri Lanka was successfully held on 02 November 2025 at the Sri Sambuddha Jayanthi Viharaya in Anuradhapura.

The programme was designed to enhance the preaching and public speaking skills in English of the student monks of the University. It provided a valuable platform for practical training, enabling students to confidently deliver Dhamma sermons to a live audience.

Six student monks delivered Dhamma sermons in English, demonstrating their knowledge of Buddhist teachings as well as their communication and presentation abilities. The event was attended by the students of the Sunday School of the Viharaya, who actively participated and attentively engaged with the sermons.

The programme significantly contributed to strengthening the linguistic competence, confidence, and missionary communication skills of the student monks, while also promoting the dissemination of Dhamma teachings in English to younger generations.
