The “Guru Tharuwata Perahuruvak” (ගුරු තරුවට පෙරහුරුවක්) – Attitude Development Workshop was successfully held on 16th October 2026. The workshop was organized by the Department of Social Sciences and Comparative Studies in accordance with the Annual Action Plan 2026, with the objectives of enhancing teachers’ professional dignity and responsibility, fostering a positive mind set and creative approach, and strengthening professional ethics and humanistic relationships.

The workshop was designed for students of the B.Ed. Honours in Buddhist Education degree programme as well as all other interested students, and was conducted by Mrs. S.A. Nadeeka Suraweera, Lecturer at the Ruwanpura National College of Education and Manager of the Kalawana Teacher Professional Development Center. It was coordinated by Ven. Madugalle Sudaththa, Coordinator of the Bachelor of Education Honours in Buddhist Studies Degree Programme.
