A Meditation Programme for the academic staff of the Bhiksu University of Sri Lanka was successfully conducted on 06 August 2025 at the Meditation Hall of the Library Building.
The programme was organized by the Department of Applied Buddhist Studies in accordance with the Action Plan 2025, with the objective of promoting mindfulness, mental clarity, and emotional well-being among academic staff members.
The session was conducted by Ven. Poojapitiye Suriyarathana, who guided participants through structured meditation practices and reflections on integrating mindfulness into teaching, research, and professional responsibilities. Emphasis was placed on cultivating calmness, concentration, and balanced decision-making within academic environments.
The programme encouraged participants to strengthen their inner discipline and maintain a harmonious balance between scholarly duties and personal well-being. This initiative reflects the University’s holistic approach to professional development, combining intellectual excellence with spiritual growth.
