An awareness lecture on “Social Disease Prevention” was successfully conducted at the Bhiksu University of Sri Lanka on 24 September 2025. The programme was organized by the Student Services Division as part of its initiatives to promote health awareness and responsible behavior among students.

The session was delivered by Dr. Ajith Karawita, who provided valuable insights into the causes, transmission, prevention, and social impact of communicable and socially significant diseases. The lecture emphasized the importance of early detection, preventive healthcare practices, and informed decision-making in maintaining individual and community well-being.

Students were encouraged to actively participate in the discussion, clarify misconceptions, and adopt preventive measures to safeguard their health. The programme highlighted the role of awareness, education, and personal responsibility in reducing health risks within the university community.

This initiative reflects the University’s ongoing commitment to fostering a healthy, informed, and socially responsible student population.
