The Bursar is responsible for the financial administration of the University under the guidance and direction of the Vice-Chancellor. As the chief financial officer of the institution, the Bursar is entrusted with the custody, management, and proper utilization of University funds.

Appointed by the University Council as a full-time officer, the Bursar ensures that all financial operations are conducted in accordance with established regulations, financial policies, and statutory requirements.

One of the key responsibilities of the Bursar is overseeing the administration of the Mahapola Scholarship and other bursary allowances, ensuring that eligible students receive their financial support efficiently and transparently.

The Bursar is assisted by an Assistant Bursar who supports the financial management functions and helps maintain smooth operation of the Accounts Division.
