Bhiksu University of Sri Lanka is pleased to announce the appointment of Senior Lecturer Ven. Welipitiye Pagnanarathana as the Head of the Department of Applied Buddhist Studies, with effect from 24th September 2025, for a tenure of three (03) years.

Ven. Welipitiye Pagnanarathana has rendered dedicated service to the University through his contributions to teaching, research, and academic development in the field of Buddhist Studies. His appointment reflects the confidence placed in his academic leadership, scholarly commitment, and administrative capability.

As Head of the Department, he will provide strategic direction for academic programs, promote research initiatives, strengthen student engagement, and further enhance the Department’s contribution to the advancement of Applied Buddhist Studies at both national and international levels.
