The Bachelor of Arts in English is designed to provide students with a comprehensive foundation in English language, literature, and linguistic studies. The programme begins with essential training in writing skills, introduction to linguistics, and foundational literary studies.
As students advance, the curriculum expands to language structure and usage, postcolonial literature, twentieth-century literature, Sri Lankan poetry and prose, Victorian and Romantic literary traditions, varieties of English, English Language Teaching and research skills.
