Established in 2016.
The unit is located on the ground floor of the Faculty of Languages and Cultural Studies at Bhiksu University of Sri Lanka. It conducts postgraduate programmes, a Bachelor of Arts external degree programme, diploma programmes and extension courses.
According to the official UPEDEC information, postgraduate programmes are for Buddhist monks, while other programmes are available for Buddhist monks and lay students based on the approved intake requirements.
