Our Story
Broad perspectives, grounded scholarship
The Faculty of Languages and Cultural Studies was established in 2012 and brings together the Department of Languages and the Department of Social Sciences and Comparative Studies.
Its academic work connects language and literature with history, archaeology, social inquiry, information studies, heritage, and comparative cultural understanding. The Faculty aims to equip students with intellectual depth, communication skills, ethical awareness, and research competence.
Through teaching, scholarship, outreach, and collaboration, FOLC contributes to the University’s role as a centre of Buddhist and humanistic learning responsive to contemporary society.
