In alignment with UGC circulars and staff development initiatives across all universities, Bhiksu University of Sri Lanka has been implementing staff development activities since 2012.

The Staff Development Center (SDC) at Bhiksu University of Sri Lanka (BUSL) serves as a cornerstone of our institution, dedicated to enhancing the competencies and advancing the professional development of all staff members. Our mission is to cultivate an environment of continuous learning and growth for both academic and non-academic staff, ensuring that quality of the learning and teaching process, research, and services at BUSL is elevated through effective, relevant, and student-centered approaches.

With a vision aligned with international standards, the SDC is committed to equipping academic staff with cutting-edge teaching methodologies while fostering essential skills and competencies among both teaching and non-teaching staff. This ensures that all staff perform their roles with excellence and efficiency.

Staff development is not a one-time event but an ongoing process. Our programmes at SDC are designed not only to enhance technical expertise but also to nurture leadership, critical thinking, attitudes and ethical responsibility. We provide a platform for staff to explore innovative teaching practices, engage in meaningful research, and contribute to the holistic development of our students.

Since its inception, the SDC has played a pivotal role in promoting the professional growth and research excellence of BUSL’s staff, ensuring they are well-prepared to meet the evolving challenges of higher education. Through a range of initiatives, we continuously strive to enhance the capabilities of both academic and non-academic staff, collectively contributing to the academic and research excellence at BUSL.
