Introduction | Reference Section

The Reference Collection (Code “R”) is a core service unit of the Library, consisting of essential information resources intended for in-library consultation. Materials classified under the “R” code in the Library system are designated as reference materials and are not issued for regular borrowing.

This collection includes dictionaries, encyclopedias, annual statements, magazines, rare books, technological and scientific documents, government statements, and other official publications. In addition, documents and publications relevant to the Bhiksu University of Sri Lanka are also housed within this category. These resources are selected to provide accurate, authoritative, and up-to-date information to support academic study, teaching, and research.

The Reference Collection is systematically arranged to ensure easy access, and professional library staff are available to assist users in locating and utilizing these materials effectively. Through the Reference Collection (R), the Library ensures immediate access to vital information resources that form the foundation of scholarly work.
