Loss of Library Card

In the event of the loss of a library card, the concerned member must inform the Librarian in writing without delay. A replacement library card will be issued after fourteen (14) days upon submission of a duly completed application form and payment of a fee of Rs. 25.00. The cardholder shall be held fully responsible for any library materials issued to another person using the lost library card.

Damage or Distortion of Library Card

If a library card becomes damaged, faded, or illegible, a new card must be obtained by submitting a duly completed application form together with a replacement fee of Rs. 25.00.

Retention of Books Beyond the Permitted Period

Library members are not permitted to retain lending books beyond the approved loan period without proper renewal. If a member wishes to retain a book beyond the permitted time, prior written approval must be obtained from the Librarian. Extensions may be granted only if there are no pending requests for the book.

Any book retained without proper renewal or authorization will be subject to a daily fine of Rs. 1.00 per book per day until the item is returned or regularized.

Loss of a Lending Book

In the event of the loss of a lending book, the Library must be informed immediately using the prescribed application form. If the lost book is not recovered within two (2) weeks from the date of notification, the member shall be required to replace the book with a new copy or pay twice the current price of the book, in addition to a library fine of Rs. 50.00.

If the book has been bound by the Library, the binding cost shall also be recovered. The Library Committee reserves the right to determine the final amount of compensation based on the year of publication, rarity, and difficulty of replacement, particularly in the case of rare or out-of-print materials.
