The Japanese Day organized by the student monks of the BUSL who pursue Japanese was successfully concluded on 20th December 2022. This programme was guided by the Head of the Department of Languages, Senior Lecturer, Ven. Baladora Indrajothi and the Instructor in Japanese, Mr. D.M. Ratnayake.

The event was held under the patronage of the Dean – Faculty of Languages & Cultural Studies, Senior Lecturer, Ven. Galwewe Wimalakhanthi, Chair Professor Ven. Kanangamuwe Rahula, Heads of Departments, Lecturers of both faculties, university officials including Registrar & Bursar.

Mr. Kojima Thoshimoto from Japan graced the occasion as a special invitee. Ms. P.N.N.D. Dayarathne - Lecturer in Japanese of the Rajarata University of Sri Lanka conducted a special lecture on “Educational & Other Opportunities in Japan for Sri Lankans

In addition, the students of Cultural Centre - University of Peradeniya & Geneses Japanese School - performed several Japanese songs and dances to add colors to the Japanese Day.
