5th International Buddhist Conference - IBC 2019 was conducted on 6th of December, 2019 under the guidance of Prof. Ven. Waradiwela Wijayasumana Nayaka Thera, Vice Chancellor, BUSL and IBC 2019 was presided over by the Most Ven. Dr. Niyangoda Sri Vijithasiri Anunayaka Thera of the Malwatte Chapter as the Chief Guest. Professor Emeritus Chandima Wijayabandara made the Keynote Speech entitled 'Buddhism: Beyond Religious Extremis' with reference to the main theme of IBC 2019. More than 75 Extended Abstracts related to 'Religion and Fanaticism', 'Religious Radicalism', 'Conflict Resolution', 'Reconciliation and World Peace', 'Middle Path' (Majjhimapa?ipada), 'Compassion and Empathy ' and 'Buddhism and Religious Tolerance' has been submitted as the research papers. IBC 2019 was successfully concluded with the support of Academic, Executive and Non Academic staff of BUSL. Dr. Ven. Divulapelesse Wimalananda was the Conference Chair and Ven. Galle Dhamminda and Ven. Kudawewa Somananda were Join Secretaries to IBC 2019.
