Finance Administration Division
The Finance Administration Division is responsible for managing all matters related to financial administration of the University, including payments, revenue collection, preparation of financial statements, procurement of goods and services, and budgeting. The Division ensures financial accountability, transparency, and compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
The key responsibilities of the Division include:
Preparing financial statements in accordance with Sri Lanka Public Sector Accounting Standards (SLPAS) and generally accepted accounting principles
Making all authorized payments, including utility bills, Mahapola and bursary payments, and retirement benefits
Preparing and disbursing salaries and wages
Receiving all payments due to the University and crediting them to the appropriate heads of accounts
Procuring goods and services in accordance with procurement guidelines and instructions issued by the National Procurement Agency (NPA)
Managing stock control and storage
Preparing the annual budget and allocating approved funds to relevant departments and projects
Submitting financial reports to the Ministry, Treasury, and other relevant authorities
Liaising with the Treasury to obtain required funds
