Rev. Wilgamuwe Piyananda studied Buddhist Studies at the University of Peradeniya in 2003. He entered to the University of Peradeniya and completed Bachelor of Arts degree majoring Buddhist Studies with the Second upper Class Honor 2009. He is reading his Mphil on the topic ශ‍්‍රී ලාංකේයනූතනභික්‍ෂුකතිකාවත්සම්පාදනයෙහි ලා පුරාතන මූලාශ‍්‍රය පිළිබ`ද විමර්ශනාත්මක අධ්‍යයනයක්. He worked as a sub warden at BuddhassravakaBhiksu University Anuradhapurasince 2010 to 2015. At present, he is working as a probationary lecturer at the Bhikshu University of Sri Lanka, Anuradhapura. He has completed Oriental Pandith Graduate Final Examination at Oriental Language Studies Society in 2008.
